Announcing an exciting partnership with Hymnary.org, a music planning website with 6.5 million unique visitors each year. Visitors can search for hymns by topic, scripture passage, season, lectionary week, and more, from a wide range of sources.
We interviewed Nyna Sykes, Associate Director of the Christian Classics Ethereal Library (CCEL), the hosting website of Hymnary.org. Involved in the creation of Hymnary.org, Mrs. Sykes is proud of Hymnary’s mission. “Hymns have played a gargantuan role in Christianity,” Mrs. Sykes said, “and as technology is changing the church service, Hymnary.org is positioned to help maintain the essential role of music in the life of the church.”
Hymnary.org is a music database for worship leaders, hymnologists, and amateur hymn lovers alike.

Brenna: The ONE LICENSE team is thrilled about this new partnership. Can you tell our License Holders more?
Nyna: ONE LICENSE and Hymnary.org are working together to offer more worship planning options. Now you can search for songs at Hymnary.org by scripture passage, topic, lectionary week, author, and more, and view more of the suggestions.
B: How will our License Holders benefit from this new partnership?
N: This partnership will enable customers to search for and preview songs for worship services. Hymnary.org offers powerful search capabilities for songs included with ONE LICENSE, and it offers texts, scores, hymn and author stories, and other resources for using these songs in worship.
B: How will our Member Publishers benefit from this new partnership?
N: The Hymnary.org sophisticated tools can be very helpful in the worship planning process. That’s why we’re partnering to make worship planning easier. Our website had 6.5 million users last year, including worship planners, congregation members, and others searching for hymns and planning worship services.
