OneLicense.net and LicenSingOnline.org announce merger:
Exciting news for congregations, composers, and publishers

A single license serving congregational reprint needs

OneLicense.net and LicenSingOnline.org have signed a historic agreement to merge, heralding a new day for easy access to the music of the world’s top publishers of music for the church. The merger takes effect January 1, 2017.

The new Company, jointly owned by GIA Publications, Inc. (GIA) and Oregon Catholic Press (OCP), will retain the ONE LICENSE name, Chicago offices, and OneLicense.net website URL. Participating publishers include OCP, GIA, Augsburg Fortress Publishers, Hope Publishing, Concordia, Church Publishing, Oxford University Press, International Liturgy Publications, and many more.

ONE LICENSE will primarily serve Roman Catholic and mainline Protestant communities in the United States, Canada, Australia, and other English-speaking countries around the world. The all new ONE LICENSE will provide these communities with a single source for their most-used music.

Until now, church music directors had to choose between two different licensing options with two different lists of publishers and reporting protocols, and many churches needed both licenses. After the merger, church leaders can go to a single company on a new, cutting-edge, web-based platform for their reprint needs. On the all new ONE LICENSE website, music ministers can download and report music sung by the assembly and obtain Podcast/Streaming and Practice-Track Licenses in one convenient and easy-to-use location.

“We have felt for many years that merging our two licensing divisions is good for the church and good for composers and artists who write the wonderful songs we sing,” said Alec Harris, president of GIA Publications, Inc.

“We are thrilled to bring together the best of both platforms into a new service that is truly a breakthrough for churches around the world,” said John Limb, publisher of OCP. “We chose to retain the ONE LICENSE name because it truly describes what we are offering. Most Catholic and mainline Protestant churches will only have to purchase ‘one license’ to gain access to all the music they need for their liturgies and other church celebrations and events.”

ONE LICENSE is an online licensing service committed to making it easy to obtain reprint permissions for congregational music. From Annual, Event, and Single-Use Reprint Licenses to Practice-Track and Podcast/Streaming Licenses, we have a license that will meet your congregational music reprint needs.
